Muay Thai at Hou Man Do
WHAT YOU ARE WALKING INTO.
THE STANDARD
Stance, guard, teep, round kick, knee, elbow, clinch. Every class is pad work with a partner and a coach on your hips and hands. Sparring is earned and controlled.
WHO IT IS FOR
Teens and adults who want to hit something properly, get into the best shape of their life, and learn to defend themselves standing. No fight experience needed. Fighters are built from the same class.
THE TEAM
The White Elephant team fights on New York cards. Anyone who earns a place is told so by the master.

The first fourteen days
FOURTEEN DAYS. THEN THE YEAR.
Everyone who walks in begins the same way: fourteen days of any class on the schedule and the master’s placement at the end of it. Kids $49. Teens and adults $69. One fee, paid once. Nothing renews.
Questions
Do I need gloves?
Not for the first fourteen days. After that, 14 or 16 oz gloves, hand wraps and shin guards; the desk will tell you what to buy.
Will I have to spar?
Not until you are ready and not unless you want to. Pad work builds everything; sparring is offered, never forced.
Is Muay Thai good for weight loss?
It is the hardest hour in the building. Most adults who come for the conditioning stay for the art.
